About

Welcome to my website,

My name is Stavros Malichudis, and I am a journalist based in Athens, Greece. I am the editor-in-chief of Solomon, a small but impactful Greek investigative outlet that produces journalism in the public interest, where I also serve as a board member, and I collaborate in cross-border investigations as a freelancer.

My interests include migration and human rights, accountability of -any- power, exploring how algorithms shape our world, and corruption. Over the past few years, I have participated in several cross-border investigations, with Lighthouse Reports and Investigate Europe among others.

I have experience working on digital, radio, and print, including having worked as a fact-check reporter for AFP and a reporter for the Greek investigative outlet inside story. My work has appeared in international and European outlets such as the BBC, Balkan Insight, El País, Mediapart, Der Tagesspiegel, Newlines Magazine, The New Humanitarian, The Guardian, Newlines Magazine, IRPI, and Greek outlets such as Reporters United and Efsyn.

In 2023, I was selected as an Algorithm Watch fellow. In 2019, I was selected as a fellow for the Balkan Fellowship for Journalistic Excellence (BFJE) of the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN).

In the summer of the same year, I was trained in data journalism at Columbia University in New York with a scholarship.
